CHANCE Fellow Inspired to Mitigate Climate Change

Erifili Draklelis is both a 2017 CHANCE Costa Rica & 2017 CHANCE Cuba Fellow who recently graduated from Penn State University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration at Columbia University in Environmental Science and Policy. Her focus is in transitioning to a net zero future through energy systems. Her experiences interning with the PA Environmental Council in Pittsburgh to enact environmental change at the community level have led her to work at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Sustainability working to transition the city’s built environment to net zero emissions. Her research, the passion for which was laid with CHANCE, is on carbon capture and sequestration. The CHANCE program is forever at the heart of all she does as it instilled the biophilia in her that inspires her work to mitigate climate change. Erifili, you make CHANCE proud!
